One day during the first few months of 2005, Linda Lunch founder, Linda Shane was at Michael’s arts & craft store in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was looking at yarn. Linda looked up and began talking to several women nearby.
One woman seemed especially friendly, so she asked her what her name was. “Linda” was her reply. Linda laughed, telling her that her name was Linda as well. The two ladies began talking about making knitted scarves and then the conversation drifted on to more personal things.
Soon another woman named Linda came in that was an acquaintance from Linda Shane’s work. The three Lindas’ were introduced to one another and laughed and talked for over an hour as if they had known each other for years.
Before they departed, phone numbers were exchanged and a decision was made to have a “Linda Lunch” someday. That “someday” came about in the summer of 2005 for the first Linda Lunch. Four Lindas came. A year (and seven Linda Lunches later) we had grown to over 45 Lindas strong. Linda’s through the years have come and gone, yet many are still with us almost from the beginning.
Here it is 2013 and we are still going strong. Waiting…watching…wondering when you will be joining us. All it takes, is that your name needs to be Linda spelled L.I.N.D.A.
